Article 14 of the Constitution guarantees the principle of equality before the law. Women and men are entitled to the same human rights and freedoms.[1] The area of equal opportunities in Slovenia is now being undertaken by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.[2] Before March 2012, it was the responsibility of the Office for Equal Opportunities.[3] While women and men enjoy the same legal status and rights under family law, labor law, property law, and inheritance law, they experienced discrimination in some areas.[4]
