The 2019 edition of the SIGI includes 180 countries, of which 120 countries have full data coverage: 31 countries in Africa, 20 in the Americas, 33 in Asia and 36 in Europe.

In addition, as a result of a series of policy dialogue events organised throughout 2021 in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB), the OECD’s Sahel and West Africa Club Secretariat (SWAC) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), three Sub-regional Policy Highlights were published as related content to the Regional Report for Africa for East, Southern and West Africa. In addition, the discussions during the policy dialogues resulted in three sub-regional roadmaps for action:
